Carole
I. Smith, CEO, is the founder and
Executive Director of the Workforce
2000 Advisory Council. She established Workforce 2000 in
1988 long before the term "Workforce 2000" became
part of everyone's language, and focused the City of Philadelphia
on the importance of technology in shaping the 21st century
economy with the establishment of a Telecommunications Technology
Task Force in 1994. Carole has served under two Mayors in Philadelphia
as the Executive Director of the Mayor's
Commission on Technology (MCOT), and
is a columnist for The Neighborhood Leader, a community
newspaper. Her article "Technology For Your Practice: Ready
-- And Essential -- Today," was recently published in Minority
Health Today, an official publication of the Minority Health
Professions Foundation, and she was recently elected Vice President
of the Comcast Cable Community Advisory Board. In her efforts
to demystify telecommunications technology for the general public,
she has produced and hosted a public affairs program for cable
television, "Technology and You: Another Point of View,"
since 1996.
Narissa
Wallace, Chief Technology Officer is president and CEO of Multi
- Media Concepts,Inc. where she is involved in overseeing the design and development of websites for small businesses and non-profit
organizations, mult-media projects (on-line training, cd-rom & dvd production) and providing technical consulting services. MMC also provides and develops
computer training programs for government agencies, public schools
and community based organizations. Narissa also oversees
the website development for the Mayor's Commission on Technology and serves as Production Coordinator for Philadelphia's Got IT.
